Friendship has been at the forefront of change – transforming the
lives of hundreds of otherwise hopeless youths who for the most part
would have been condemned to a future without purpose and through no

benefited from your operations are mostly “drop outs” from the
formal high school system.

Rotary Evening of Excellence
"If it takes forever," Karen Smith
trilled, "I'll wait for you..."
Last Sunday night, the audience at the Rotary Club of New Kingston's
Evening of Excellent Music, held at the Sir Philip Sherlock Centre
on the UWI campus, had to wait a relatively evanescent twenty
minutes for the start of the programme.

An Evening of Excellent Music
The Rotary Clob of New Kingston
held a fund-raising event - An evening of Excellent Music, at the
Sir Phillip Sherlock (Creative Arts) Centre at the University on Sunday,
October 10, 2004. The evening featured some of Jamaica's most
accomplished musicians - Paulette Bellamy, Jon Williams, Velia Ann
Espeut, Michael Harris and Karen Smith. Guest performances
were done by Rotarian Athelstan Bellamy and friends Billy Kerr and
Dr. Fletcher. Proceeds from the event will go towards
assisting the various club charities.

Businesses Get Rotary Centennial
Award
To mark the start of the 100th
anniversary of Rotary International being celebrated during his
2004/05 administrative year, the Rotary Club of New Kingston has
presented 5 Jamaican Companies with its Centennial Awards. The
recipients are the Carreras Group, Scotia Bank Jamaica Limited,
Jencare Skin Farm, Capital & Credit Merchant Bank and Jamaica
National Building Society.
